| CÁDIZ BREAKWATER © 2002 Patricia Gould Set on the rugged Atlantic Coast, Cádiz, Spain is constantly battered by wind and waves. The breakwater is built of a massive stone wall and these cement blocks, which are slowly being reclaimed by the ocean. The blocks are so solid and strong, yet they are crumbling and the velvety moss growing on them makes them look so soft, like carpeting. They are obviously no match for the mighty Atlantic Ocean. 28.5” X 38.5” EXHIBITIONS Wichita National 2007, Wichita Center for the Arts, September - October 2007, Wichita KS Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival, March 2004, Williamsburg VA Pacific International Quilt Festival, October 2003, Santa Clara CA “Tactile Architecture”, International Quilt Festival, November 2002, Houston TX and April 2003, Chicago IL |
