THE SHAPE OF WATER
© 2005 PATRICIA GOULD

As the Yellowstone River wends its way downstream, it has carved out a
formation aptly named, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Rarely do any
of the four elements that make up our Earth exist by themselves. They
interact with the other elements to form our environment, which is in constant
flux due to their influence upon each other. I thought this formation is a
stunning example of how the water shaped the land, which then in turn, has
determined the shape of the water.
