Blue Cathedral
I based this work on a photo my brother, Steven Gould, took off the coast of Antarctica, while working on an expedition cruise. The sun is up almost 24 hours in the Southern Hemisphere Summer, and I liked that the light in the sky was subdued but there were dramatic highlights and shadows on the iceberg and dancing reflections on the ocean. ©2001 Patricia Gould. Painted and stitched cotton and taffeta. 37 x 55 inches.
